Gaelic is the English term for the three languages which form half of the six languages comprising the Celtic language. These are Irish Gaelic, Manx Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic. These languages are spoken in Ireland, Scotland and Man. These languages were spoken by the first wave of Celtic immigrants to the British Isles who spoke Goidelic.

Goidelic? Exactly where does it come from? The original inhabitants to the British Isles called the immigrants gwyddel savages, from which the word goidelic, as their language, originates from.

The second wave of immigrants to the British Isles speaking Brythonic led to the two other languages, Welsh and Cornish, as well as the language spoken in Brittany called Breton.
