The French magazine Celtic calls the music on their eponymous CD "dream tracks" for their ethereal, romantic quality, lauding its haunting beauty.

But Rua would like to move away from the ubiquitous "Celtic" label (a viewpoint not uncommon in Ireland).

"There's such a vast overuse of the word. The label "Celtic" is on everything, and it's just not true. Our music is not "Celtic", and I don't know if there's anyone in Ireland who knows what real "Celtic" is.

"We resent being labelled "Celtic" because of our red hair. Our music is Rua music, it is Irish."
