Info from Frances re the San Jose gathering:

"

I have the gathering for July 15th at San Jose it took awhile alot of restaurants are closed on Sundays and some only serve drinks not food.  It will be at Blakes Steak House and Bar at 17 North San Perdro it is 4 blocks from the arena a ten minute walk.  I have made the reservation for 15 people if more show up i just suggested we get table near ours otherwise they would charge banquet services for a larger group.  I will be making name tags and I have two extra signs that will glow in the dark if people want contact me and tell what want on sign. Any of the people from the Feis competion are welcome to come and stop by to tell us how it went.  Prices are from $15 to $30.  The reservation is under Flatleys, for 5:00p.m. Anyone wishing to come please contact me so I can get you a name tag.  There are only eight names on the gathering list so we have room for 6 more people. Any question please let me know.

Info regarding a gathering in Houston from Elsa:

"This hotel may be a good choice for those attending the Houston show. The Compaq Center(http://www.compaqcenter.com/main.html) is located right off of the Interstate 59 between Timmons street and Edloe street. On the next block (just across the street, here’s an aerial view http://renaissancehouston.citysearch.com/14.html ) is the Renaissance Houston Hotel - http://renaissancehouston.citysearch.com/ -(a Marriott hotel), address: 6 Greenway Plaza East, Houston, Texas 77046 and is between Edloe and Buffalo Speedway. The hotel has informed me that there is an underground walkway from the hotel directly to the Compaq Center. I have the menus from the three ‘eateries’ and will put them on a webpage later. I believe the ‘sports bar and grill’ will be a good pre-show gathering. The local number for the hotel is 713-629-1200, the toll free is 1-800-648-4462. I inquired about the room rate for Friday, July 27 and was quoted a price of $89 plus tax. More research is being done and will be supplied later. I’m keeping my own headcount for the Houston show and as of today it’s seven people."

Thanks to Jeannie and Merrybeth I´ve got some news for Tampa and Detroit show goers. Here is what Jeannie wrote:

Tampa:

"Thanks to Merrybeth we have reservations in the Econo Lodge at 1020 S. Dale Mabry. They give free transport from the airport and free continental breakfast and free local calls. To make reservations, phone 1-800-905-8861 and ask for Rose who has a block of rooms for Feet of Flames Fans at a reduced rate. Local phone # is (813)254-3005 or fax 813/253-2909 . This motel is about 4 miles from the Ice Palace where the show is. Closer hotels are all very expensive.

Detroit:

"We have reserved  rooms in the Best Western Detroit Downtown at 1020 Washington Blvd. It is walking distance to the Joe Louis Center. If you book through hotel discounts.com you can reserve a room for $75.25 but remember there is a $50.00 charge to change or cancel a reservation. The regular price is $129.00. Up to four in a room."
