Launched just over a year ago, the super group out of Ireland known as "Celtic Woman" has captivated audiences everywhere. Their original performance at the Helix in Dublin was recorded for Public Television stations across the United States, and the airings and re-airings on PBS created a demand for concert tours, which have garnered standing ovations on three continents. Their success has been absolutely phenomenal, but not surprising, because of the sheer talent of these lovely ladies, Chloe, Deirdre, Lisa, Meav, Orla, and fiery fiddler Mairead, under the direction of David Downes, former Musical Director of Riverdance.
The Celtic Woman CD has been certified gold and the DVD has been certified platinum, and the performers' solo albums have climbed the charts. Listen to music samples at Amazon.
